("Avala") (TSX VENTURE:AVZ) reports that Jonathan Goodman has resigned as a director of the Company and Rick Howes has been appointed to fill the vacancy created by Mr. Goodman's departure. The board of directors of the Company wishes to thank Mr. Goodman for his valuable contribution as a director since 2010. Rick Howes is a professional engineer and holds a B.Sc. (mining engineering) from Queen's University, Ontario, Canada. Mr. Howes has over 30 years' experience in the mining industry, and is currently president, chief executive officer, and a director of Dundee Precious Metals Inc. ("DPM"). DPM is Avala's majority shareholder, holding approximately 53.1% of Avala's issued and outstanding common shares.
