Archean Star Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ASP) (the "Company" or "Archean") is pleased to announce that Mr. Jeffrey Williams of Melbourne Australia has, subject to approval of the TSX Venture Exchange (TSX:V) been appointed as a Director of the Company.

Until recently, Mr. Williams was the Managing Director of Mineral Deposits Ltd, (MDL) a company that he headed while listing on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). During his tenure as Managing Director of MDL, Mr. Williams was instrumental in raising in excess of AUD$450 million for projects such as the 3.5 million ounce Sabodala gold deposit in Senegal that was subsequently developed into the Sabodala Gold Mine, and recently developed the Grande Cote Zircon/Ilmenite Mine, also in Senegal. In mid-June, 2011, MDL raised AUD$140M to commence construction of the mine and at the same time announced the merger of the Grande Cote interests with the French industrial producer Eramet.

Prior to his tenure as Managing Director of MDL, Mr. Williams was, among other things, involved with major Australian Securities firms such as HSBC James Capel as Head of Resources, Senior Research Analyst with ANZ McCaughan of Melbourne, Mining Analyst with Roach & Co of Melbourne and was Senior Mining Engineer with North Broken Hill Holdings of Melbourne.

The Company is very pleased it has attracted Mr. Williams, with his wealth of experience and qualifications in the Australian and International mining business as a Director of Archean and the Company intends to continue to seek to enhance its board with other highly qualified individuals from the Australian Mining and Investment community as it moves forward with its exploration of the Gnaweeda Gold Project.

The Company has announced the grant of 200,000 incentive stock options exercisable at $0.15 cents for five years to Mr. Williams.

Archean Star Resources Inc. is a junior exploration company that, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Archean Star Resources Australia Pty Ltd, has entered into an Option Agreement, subject to a 75% back in right, to earn 100% of Teck Australia Pty Ltd's ("Teck") interest in Chalice Gold Mines Limited's Gnaweeda Gold Project in West Australia. Kent Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:KEX) with approximately 10,000,000 shares or 22% of the outstanding common shares, is the controlling shareholder of Archean.
