Donation underscores the Charity's aim of improving the lives of children
CALGARY, Nov. 30, 2012 /CNW/ - President's Choice® Children's Charity is pleased to announce a $20,000 donation to the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation. These funds will be used towards improving the collection of resources at the Family and Community Resource Centre Library for Child Health Information Services. The library enables families of children with disabilities or illnesses to secure health information they need to make informed decisions and support their efforts in advocating for their child's health care.
"With this donation to Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation, we hope to reach many more children across Alberta, and give their families much needed resources they need to support them," said Marlin Krieger, member of President's Choice® Children's Charity Board of Directors and regional vice-president, Western Canada, Loblaw Companies Limited.
Since 2004, President's Choice® Children's Charity is delighted to have assisted children and families in Alberta and has provided up to $2.67 million in individual grants. Dollars granted were raised by the efforts and generosity of the customers and teams from the Real Canadian Superstore®, Real Canadian Wholesale Club®, Extra Foods®, nofrills® and vendors related to the banner stores and to Loblaw Companies Limited.
President's Choice® Children's Charity is dedicated to helping children who are physically or developmentally challenged. Families can receive individual grants of up to $20,000 to assist with the costs of equipment, home accessibility, respite care, developmental and physical therapy and accessible vehicles. Families who are interested in receiving direct financial assistance can learn more at www.pc.ca/charity. In 2012, the Charity has granted more than $7.8 million to more than 1,600 children with disabilities across Canada.
