S&P Dow Jones Indices Announces Changes to the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices

A Merger in the S&P/TSX SmallCap Index

TORONTO, June 5, 2017 /CNW/ - S&P Dow Jones Indices Canadian Index Services will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices:  

The shareholders of Trican Well Service Ltd. (TSX:TCW) and Canyon Services Group Inc. (TSX:FRC) have approved the terms of a Plan of Arrangement whereby Trican will acquire Canyon in a share exchange. Terms are 1.70 TCW/FRC. Effective at the open of trading on Thursday, June 8, 2017, the shares of Canyon will be removed from the S&P/TSX SmallCap Index. At the same time, the relative weight of Trican will increase to reflect the issuance of Trican shares as part of the transaction.
