Canadian Pacific Kansas City Ltd. has struck a multiyear agreement to provide truckload intermodal-transportation services on its single line north-south corridor across North America for Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings Inc.
The rail company said Knight-Swift's Mexico customer base will be able to leverage a broad network of rail lines and terminals to improve service reliability and competitiveness.
As Knight-Swift will transition its Mexico-U.S. traffic to Canadian Pacific starting in mid-May, Canadian Pacific said it will focus on growth between the Chicago, Texas and Mexico markets.
Canadian Pacific earlier this month finalized its combination with Kansas City Southern, creating a single-line railway connecting Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
The company last week signed an agreement with multimodal logistics company Schneider National Inc. to provide single-line intermodal transportation on its north-south corridor.
