BAY DE VERDE, NL, April 13, 2016 /CNW/ - CIBC (TSX: CM) (NYSE: CM) announced today support for clients in the Bay de Verde area affected by the fire at the Quinlan Brothers fish processing plant. CIBC will look at ways to support clients through this difficult time, including:

  • Deferring payments on mortgages, loans and credit card bills;
  • Re-amortizing mortgage payments to lower monthly costs; or
  • Crediting client accounts for any fees caused by overdrafts, insufficient funds, early withdrawals on term deposits or use of non-CIBC bank machines.

"Our thoughts are with everyone in the region affected by this devastating and tragic fire," said Mark McGuire, CIBC District Vice President, Newfoundland and Labrador. "We are here for our clients to offer our assistance and support through this period of uncertainty."

Clients are encouraged to contact their CIBC Advisor or call 1-800-465-2422 to discuss their financial situation and get personalized advice.
