France's financial market regulator approved a bid from a consortium including Volkswagen AG for the acquisition of Paris-listed car-rental company Europcar Mobility Group SA.
The German car maker said Tuesday that the Autorite des Marches Financiers approved the takeover offer from Green Mobility Holding SA, consisting of Volkswagen, Attestor Ltd. and Pon Holdings BV.
The announcement comes roughly two months after the consortium filed its tender offer for Europcar with the AMF.
Volkswagen said that the AMF would reveal the start of the acceptance period for the tender of shares in Europcar.
