MoviStar P.R. Selects Lucent Technologies to Help Operate and
Maintain Its Wireless Network 


SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, April 13  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MoviStar P.R., a
leading mobile communications operator in Puerto Rico, announced today that it
has selected Lucent Technologies  to provide operations and maintenance support
for MoviStar's wireless network.

As part of the multi-year agreement, Lucent Worldwide Services (LWS) also will
provide technical support and software updates for MoviStar's CDMA network.

"This agreement will allow MoviStar to reduce its operating expenses and sharpen
its focus on managing our core business of customer service and strategic
growth, while maintaining a high-quality of service to its subscribers," said

MoviStar joins some 30 other service providers around the world who are
leveraging the expertise of Lucent Worldwide Services in managing complex
communications systems to ensure the quality and reliability of their networks.
Lucent has signed morethan a half dozen contracts with service providers in the
CALA region over the last few years.
