                               Trading Statement



SHL Group plc ('SHL') announces that following its key September
trading period, profit for the year is likely to be in line with current market
expectations. Revenues for the 3 months to 30 September 2003 were 6% lower than
the prior year, continuing the trend seen in the quarter to 30 June 2003. The
Board is confident that the action that has already been taken to deliver
increased return on sales will ensure that full year profit is in line with
current market expectations.
