SABESP Announces Tariff Readjustment

SAO PAULO, Aug. 12  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Companhia de Saneamento Basico do Estado de Sao Paulo - SABESP (NYSE: SBS; Bovespa: SBSP3), one of the world's largest water and sewage service providers in terms of number of customers, announces that the Sao Paulo State Sanitation and Energy Regulatory Agency (ARSESP), approved the tariff readjustment index of 4.43% to be applied to water and sewage tariffs as of September 11, 2009.

This readjustment will not be applied to the cities of Lins and Sao Bernardo do Campo, which have different rules.

During the effectiveness of the readjustment, the tariff charts will be available at the Sabesp web site, http://www.sabesp.com.br/ and at all Company service branches.
