Result of Placing and Open Offer

On 5 November 2003 the Company announced a Firm Placing and a Placing and Open
Offer of 21,686,747 New Ordinary Shares of 5 pence each in the Company at a
price of 83 pence per share to raise #18.0 million before expenses.

Of the 15,756,621 New Ordinary Shares available for take-up under the Open
Offer, valid applications had been received by the close of the Open Offer at
3.00 p.m. on 26 November 2003 for 6,182,435 New Ordinary Shares. This represents
approximately 39.2 per cent. of the New Ordinary Shares offered under the Open
Offer. Those not applied for have been taken up by placees.

The Firm Placing and the Placing and Open Offer remain conditional upon the
passing of the resolution to be proposed at the Extraordinary General Meeting of
the Company to be held at 10:00 a.m. on 28 November 2003, and upon the admission
of the 21,686,747 New Ordinary Shares to listing on the Official List and to
trading on the London Stock Exchange plc's main market for listed securities
("Admission").

Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock
Exchange plc for Admission, which is expected to take place at 8.00 a.m. on 3
December 2003.
