RNS Number:7752L Parkman Group PLC 2 June 2003 For Immediate Release 2 June 2003 Parkman Group plc ("Parkman" or "the Company") New contract wins including major contract with Liverpool City Council Parkman Group plc, the professional support services group, has been invited to enter into negotiations as preferred bidder by Liverpool City Council (the "Council") in a major new partnership. Parkman has been recommended as the Council's private sector partner in a ten year joint venture expected to be worth at least #10 million per annum to Parkman. The partnership will provide the Council's professional services function in property, building, highways and traffic engineering. The contract is proposed to start on 1 September 2003 and initially some 250 staff will transfer, though the number of staff is expected to grow significantly as the momentum for regeneration accelerates in Liverpool. Parkman Chief Executive, Richard Cuthbert, commented: "This will be a flagship commission for Parkman. Whilst we already have a number of major partnership clients such as Wiltshire County Council and Transport for London, the service breadth and the ambition for growth in Liverpool will make it unique. It moves Parkman up a level in terms of capacity and profile in the sector." Councillor Peter Millea, Liverpool Council's Executive Member for Regeneration said: "This latest venture is yet another example of the Council's commitment to harnessing the best aspects of private sector experience and expertise to support its policy of delivering the highest quality services to the community. Parkman's innovative proposals for the joint venture, together with their long-term involvement in the community and their commitment of a top quality management team, struck a chord with the City Council's elected Members and Officers." In addition, Parkman is also pleased to announce a number of other contract wins: *Ofsted has re-appointed Parkman, to carry out primary school inspections for the academic year 2003/04 in a contract valued at more than #1.5m. This maintains the Group's position as a principal provider to Ofsted; *Northumbrian Water has appointed Parkman under a framework agreement for network management and water quality worth #1m per annum over five years; and *Greater Manchester Police has appointed Parkman under two contracts for multi-discipline design and project management services, together worth up to #0.5m per annum for a period of two years with a potential one year extension. Parkman's order book now stands at #240m.
