Markel American Insurance Company Completes Custom Motorcycle and Prepares to Award in Sweepstakes

WAUKESHA, Wis., Aug. 23  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Markel American Insurance Company today announced the completion of the custom Board Track Racer style motorcycle built by Markel American Associates through its "Markel Builds Fun" project to raise money for the Victory Junction Gang charity.

Entries to win the motorcycle in a sweepstakes will be accepted until August 31, 2007 at http://www.markelbuildsfun.com/ . No purchase is necessary to enter, but entrants are encouraged to donate to the Victory Junction Gang.

"This project was great fun and I can't wait to see the face of the winner when we present it to them," said builder and Marine Underwriter, Dale Moldenhauer.

Markel American Associates Tom Conroy, Mark Hoedel and Dale Moldenhauer built the motorcycle from a rolling chassis kit purchased from Milwaukee Iron in Lynchburg, VA. Numerous Wisconsin companies were also involved in the project. Hoban Brothers Cycle Shop in Newton, WI, Auto Source in Chilton, WI, Custom Designs in Malone, WI and Innovative Auto Body in New Holstein, WI each played a key role in seeing this bike through to completion.

The sweepstakes entries will be accepted through August 31, 2007 and the drawing will be held in late September, 2007.

The mission of the Victory Junction Gang Camp, http://www.victoryjunction.org/ , is to enrich the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun, and empowering, in a safe and medically sound environment. Founded by NASCAR driver Kyle Petty and his wife Pattie in honor of their late son Adam, the Victory Junction Gang Camp is a year-round facility serving children, age 7 to 15.
