                    Merchant House Group PLC ('the Company')

                            Directors' Shareholding


The Company has been notified today that Directors of the Company have
purchased, in aggregate, 56,000 Ordinary Shares representing 0.82 per cent. of
the issued share capital of the Company.


Peter Cotgrove, Chairman, Peter Redmond, Director and Richard Armstrong,
Director each purchased yesterday 16,000 Ordinary Shares at a price of 12 pence
per share.  In addition, Gary Thompson, Director, today purchased 8,000 Ordinary
Shares, also at a price of 12 pence per share.  Following these purchases the
holdings of the above directors is as follows :
