Celebrate 'March Madness' with Gene Hackman and Dennis Hopper when the
Collector's Edition DVD Tips Off on March 8th
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Timed to coincide with college
basketball's "March Madness," the Academy Award(R)-nominated* "Hoosiers"
hustles onto DVD as a two-disc Collector's Edition DVD on March 8th from MGM
Home Entertainment. Featuring inspiring performances by acclaimed actors Gene
Hackman, Barbara Hershey and Dennis Hopper, "Hoosiers" is a triumphant tale
about a small-town American high school basketball team's long-shot attempt to
win the 1952 state championship.
Featuring a new hi-definition transfer and 5.1 Digital Dolby surround sound,
the "Hoosiers" two-disc Collector's Edition includes a full roster of special
features, including a "Hoosier History: The Truth Behind The Legend"
documentary featuring new interviews with Hackman, Hopper, director David
Anspaugh, writer Angleo Pizzo, former Milan and Muncie basketball players from
1954 and Indiana Pacers' Reggie Miller. In addition, the DVD features 13
deleted scenes with an introduction by Anspaugh and Pizzo, the 1954 Milan vs.
Muncie Indiana High School Championship Game, an audio commentary by Anspaugh
and Pizzo, a photo gallery and the original theatrical trailer (see next page
for details). The Collector's Edition DVD is available for the suggested
retail price of $29.98, and the standard edition is available for the suggested
retail price of $14.95.

high-school basketball team and faces the dual challenge of bringing this
underdog team to the 1952 state championship and redeeming himself from a
mysterious past.
