Mercedes-Benz Group AG said Friday that it is expanding its supply agreement with Chinese battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology Co.
The German car maker said the battery supplier's new factory in Debrecen, Hungary, will supply battery cells for the next-generation Mercedes-Benz models. The agreement builds on a partnership first announced in 2020, Mercedes-Benz said.
"Through its strategic partnership with CATL, Mercedes-Benz will advance its development of current and future best-in-class lithium-ion batteries," the auto maker said.
