Merillat Awards 'The Good Life' Music Video and Contest Winner With $30,000 Kitchen Makeover

ADRIAN, Mich., July 29  /PRNewswire/ -- On July 28, 2009, Merillat cabinetry awarded Amy Driehorst of Temperance, Mich., with a grand prize $30,000 Kitchen Makeover as part of Merillat's Good Life video contest.

The Merillat Good Life contest which ran from April 27 to June 4, encouraged consumers from all over the nation to create and share their own videos depicting what 'The Good Life' meant to them.  The entrants' videos appeared on the Merillat Facebook page and fans voted on their favorites.

To kick the contest off, Merillat launched its own 'Good Life' music video that showcased the kitchen as the social hub of the home. The video targeted the younger, first-time homebuyer market.

The goal of the contest was to capture life in the kitchen, - the perfect place for good times, tender moments and crazy antics.

The winning video from the Driehorst family told, in their own words, the Good Life in the Driehorst kitchen and explained why they felt they needed a kitchen upgrade.

"I was thrilled beyond belief when I found out we won," said Amy Driehorst.  "I consider myself a very fortunate and blessed person, but not necessarily a lucky one when it comes to contests. With four children, we are definitely in need of a major kitchen upgrade to make our space more functional for the family.  I'm looking forward to what insights Merillat can provide to make this happen."

In addition to the grand prize winner, Merillat awarded a $1,000 to the first-place winner and several iTunes gift cards to contest voters.
