RNS Number:2661P Galleon Holdings PLC 02 September 2003 For release 2 September 2003 GALLEON HOLDINGS PLC: LICENSING AGREEMENT WITH CANADIAN SUNGLASSES MANUFACTURER Galleon Holdings plc ('Galleon'), the AIM-quoted cross-media company, announces it has signed a two-year licensing agreement with Sundog Limited ('Sundog'), a leading Canadian producer of extreme sports eyewear, to manufacture and distribute branded sunglasses throughout the UK. Galleon has received an advance on the signing of the contract, which also attracts a guaranteed minimum royalty over the term of the licence. Sundog has been granted an option to negotiate territorial rights across Europe, Middle East, Canada and USA. The sunglasses will incorporate the 'UNLEASHED Fistral Freddie Surf Academy' brand. Fistral Freddie is a principal character in Galleon's animation property, Oggies, and was created in partnership with the British Surfing Association (BSA), to promote the sport to children. Sundog distributes its merchandise via a network of major high street sports retailers throughout Europe, North America and Australia. 'UNLEASHED Fistral Freddie Surf Academy' sunglasses are expected to be on sale in the UK around Christmas 2003. Jim Driscoll, Chairman of Galleon Holdings, said, "This is the second non-food licence signed for the Oggies property. Sundog produces high quality sunglasses, which reflect the modern, surfer-cool imagery of Galleon's animated TV series, and appeal to surfing and other extreme-sports-related consumers." Terry Parkes, Managing Director at Sundog Limited, said, "Oggies and The Unleashed brand offer a ready-made platform for Sundog to expand its business further. 'Fistral Freddie' and 'Unleashed UK' are brands that are proving popular with young children who follow the music, media and fashions of the surfing and extreme sports scene. We're really looking forward to developing the range and bringing it to retail." Sundog's glasses meet all European and North American standards for UV filtration. Each comes in a neoprene belted hard case branded with Fistral Freddie/UNLEASHED logo on the zip and cleaning cloth. Sundog glasses were named 'the Official Sunglasses of the British Open Golf Championship' in 2002. ENDS About Sundog Sundog Eyewear is based in Calgary, Alberta, and is a supplier of sunglasses to a wide range of retailers in North America, Europe, and Australia.
