CHC Appoints New Board Member 


ST. JOHN'S, NF, March 2  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Craig L. Dobbin, O.C.,
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CHC Helicopter Corporation ("CHC") (TSX:
FLY.A and FLY.B; NYSE: FLI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sir Bob
Reid to the Board of Directors, effective immediately.

Sir Bob joined Shell International Petroleum Company in 1956, and spent much of
his career overseas, including posts in Brunei, Nigeria, Thailand and Australia.
He served as Chairman and Chief Executive of Shell UK from 1985 to 1990. Sir Bob
has served as Chairman of the British Railways Board, London Electricity,
British-Borneo Oil & Gas plc, The Council of the Industrial Society, and Sears
plc. He currently serves as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Scotland, Chairman of
the Petroleum Exchange of London, Chairman of Avis Europe, and non-executive
director for Intercontinental Exchange Services Inc., The Merchants Trust, Sun
Life Financial Services of Canada and Seimens plc.

As a Member of the Board, Sir Bob will advise CHC and consult with other Board
Members on a wide range of issues.
