Eaton Vance National Municipal Income Trust and Eaton Vance Municipal Income Trust Declare Accelerated Monthly Distributions

BOSTON, May 15  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Eaton Vance Management, the Boston-based investment adviser, today announced the accelerated monthly distributions declared on the common shares of two of its closed-end municipal bond funds ("Funds"). The distributions are being accelerated to coincide with the closing of the merger between Eaton Vance National Municipal Income Trust (NYSE Alternext US: FEV) and Eaton Vance Municipal Income Trust (NYSE:EVN) prior to the opening of business on May 28, 2009. The record date for both distributions is May 26, 2009, and the payable date is May 28, 2009 for the FEV distribution and June 2, 2009 for the EVN distribution. The ex-date is May 21, 2009. The distribution per share, closing market price on May 14, 2009 (or last trade price), and annualized market yield for each Fund are as follows:

The amount of monthly distributions may vary depending on a number of factors. As portfolio and market conditions change, the rate of distributions on the EVN common shares could change.  This will be the final dividend on FEV common shares.
