Eaton Vance Announces Change in Meeting Date and Record Date for Joint Special Meeting of Shareholders

BOSTON, March 10  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Boards of Trustees of Eaton Vance National Municipal Income Trust (NYSE Alternext US: FEV) and Eaton Vance Municipal Income Trust (NYSE:EVN), each a closed-end investment company, have approved a change to the date of the joint special meeting of shareholders of FEV and EVN to consider the merger of FEV into EVN and the issuance of new EVN common shares.  The meeting will now be held on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 1:30 P.M. EDT.  Proxy materials containing information about the meeting and the proposed transaction will be mailed to holders of FEV's common and auction preferred shares and EVN's common shareholders of record as of March 12, 2009.
