Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium Named Top Photo/Electronics Product ST. LOUIS, Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium AAA recently received top honors for Best Photo/Electronic Product introduced in 2004. The award given by Drug Store News is based on voting by key buying and merchandising executives of the drug chain industry. "We are honored to receive this award," said Jeff Ziminski, Vice President of Marketing. "Our retailers are the link to the shoppers so their recognition means we are delivering meaningful products to the marketplace." The Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium AAA battery was introduced this fall and extends the line of lithium batteries developed and manufactured by Energizer. Energizer first introduced round cell lithium technology in 1990 when it rolled out Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium AA batteries. The Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium batteries are the world's longest-lasting AA and AAA batteries in high-tech devices. Professional photographers, mountain climbers and adventurers were first to discover and embrace the technology. As the prevalence of digital cameras and high tech devices has exploded, the batteries have grown in popularity and are finding their way into an ever-increasing number of shopping carts. The introduction of Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium AAA helps support the trend toward miniaturization as high tech devices become pocket-sized but continue to demand a high performance battery. In a practical sense the Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium AAA and AA batteries help make more memories, more pictures and more messaging. For example, the AA batteries last up to 7x longer in digital cameras (vs. ordinary alkaline. Results vary by camera.) That means you can take up to 600 digital pictures versus ordinary alkaline at up to 80 pictures. Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium AAA will give listeners up to 4.5 hours longer in MP3 players versus alkaline. In portable CD players the lithium batteries last 6.6 hours, which is 3 hours longer than ordinary alkaline. In addition to long life, the batteries offer several other advantages. Both the Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium AAA and AA are 33 percent lighter than their alkaline counterparts. In addition they have a shelf life of 15 years. Because they provide excellent performance in extreme temperatures (-40 degrees F to 140 degrees F), Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium batteries have been used by professional photographers to record everything from the Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway to treks across the Australian Outback. "The Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium batteries are the world's longest lasting and perhaps the world's best kept secret," says Ziminski. "With more high tech devices in the marketplace, consumers are looking for high performance batteries. This award, naming Energizer e2 Lithium the best photo/electronic product introduced this year underscores the fact that we are giving consumers more of what they are looking for."
