Domtar announces changes to its operational structure

MONTREAL, Oct. 27  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Domtar Inc. announced today the appointment of Richard Garneau to the position of Executive Vice- President, Operations, effective immediately.

Reporting to Raymond Royer, President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Garneau will be responsible for the papers, pulp, and wood sectors. He will also have the task to review the Corporation's operational structure and processes as well as to conduct an aggressive review of the activities so as to implement targeted cost-cutting measures company-wide before year-end.

This pressure will continue to be felt in terms of production and distribution costs, especially when amplified by a strong Canadian dollar," explained Raymond Royer.
