Mr Stephen Jones, a director of The Chepstow Racecourse PLC ("Chepstow" or "the
Company"), notified the Company on 17 October 2003 that on that day he purchased
10,000 ordinary shares, representing 0.03 per cent. of the issued share capital,
at 195 pence per share.

Following this transaction Mr Jones is beneficially interested in 92,240
ordinary shares representing 0.26 per cent. of Chepstow's issued share capital.
