Beazley Group plc, ("Beazley"), the Lloyd's insurance group that floated on the
London Stock Market in November, today announces the appointment of Andrew
Horton as Group Finance Director, taking over from Arthur Manners, with effect
12 June 2003.


Andrew has been UK Chief Financial Officer at ING since January 2001 and prior
to that, he was Deputy Global Chief Financial Officer and Global Head of Finance
for the equity markets division of ING Barings. He has held various financial
positions with ING Barings since January 1997. He qualified as a Chartered
Accountant with Coopers and Lybrand in 1987. Arthur Manners steps down from the
main board but will continue as Finance Director of Beazley Furlonge Ltd the
Lloyd's managing agency.


Andrew Beazley, Chief Executive of Beazley Group, said:

Finance Director. His background of running the finance departments of large
financial services institutions makes him the ideal candidate to help steer
Beazley at this time of great opportunity in the insurance industry.


Andrew's appointment frees Arthur from some of his pure financial
responsibilities and allows him to broaden his remit by taking responsibility
for business development initiatives."


Andrew Horton has held no directorships in other publicly quoted companies
during the last five years, and there are no details to be disclosed under
Listing Rules 6F2(b) to (g).
