CHERRY HILL, N.J., Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Anthony Matarazzo, senior director of water quality and environmental management for New Jersey American Water, has been appointed by the state Speaker of the Assembly to the New Jersey Drinking Water Quality Institute.
As a member of the 15-person institute, Matarazzo will help develop standard limits for contaminants in drinking water and offer recommendations to the commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. Matarazzo will also work with the institute to make recommendations for the implementation of the state's drinking water program.

Matarazzo has been with New Jersey American Water since 1990 and is responsible for developing and managing programs that enable the company to comply with federal, state and local environmental and drinking water regulations.
He is a member of the New Jersey Environmental Health Association, New Jersey Health Officers Association, New Jersey American Water Works Association and the New Jersey Water Environment Federation.
Matarazzo holds an MA in environmental management from Montclair State University, and a BS in biology from Rutgers University.
