Adjournment Of Special Stockholder Meeting Regarding The Proposed Acquisition of Assets of Alliance World Dollar Government Fund

NEW YORK, Dec. 12  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- A Special Meeting of Stockholders of Alliance World Dollar Government Fund, Inc. ("AWDGF" - NYSE: AWG) scheduled for today to consider the proposed acquisition of the assets and the assumption of the liabilities of AWDGF by Alliance World Dollar Government Fund II, Inc. ("AWDGF II" - NYSE: AWF) (the "Acquisition") was convened as scheduled on December 12, 2006, but has been adjourned until Friday, January 19, 2007, to allow additional time for the solicitation of proxies with respect to the proposed Acquisition.  The Special Meeting will be reconvened at 1345 Avenue of the Americas, New York, New York, at 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time.  Only stockholders of record on October 13, 2006 will be entitled to vote at the reconvened Special Meeting on January 19, 2007.

AWDGF and AWDGF II are non-diversified, closed-end U.S.-registered management investment companies.  Both Funds are advised by AllianceBernstein L.P.  As of December 8, 2006, the total net assets of AWDGF and AWDGF II were $133,495,350, and $1,015,275,483, respectively.
