             Advanced Technology (UK) Plc ("the Company" or "ATL")

                              Issue of new shares

The Company has today allotted a further 114,571 ordinary shares of 5p each
pursuant to the valid exercise of the same number of Bonus Warrants prior to 31
December 2003. Allotment was delayed pending clearance of funds or receipt of
outstanding paperwork. The timescale for exercise of Bonus Warrants expired on
31 December 2003 and accordingly the Company does not expect any further
allotments to be made with respect to Bonus Warrants. Bonus Warrants were issued
to shareholders pursuant to the arrangements set out in the Company's circular
dated 21 November 2002 and approved by shareholders on 17 December 2002. Each
Bonus Warrant entitles the holder to subscribe for one new ordinary share at a
price of 10p per share.

Application has been made for admission to AIM of the new ordinary shares.
Admission is expected to take place on 27 January 2004.
