Advanced Technology (UK) Plc ("the Company" or "ATL")

Issue of new shares

On 05 January ATL has received validly executed notices of the exercise of the
right to convert 266,500 Conditional Convertible Unsecured Loan Notes 2005
("Loan Notes") into new Ordinary Shares in the capital of the Company. Loan
Notes were issued to investors pursuant to the arrangements set out in the
Company's circular dated 21 November 2002 and approved by shareholders on 17
December 2002. Each Loan Note entitles the holder to convert Loan Notes into
Ordinary Shares at the rate one new Ordinary Share for each 15p of Loan Notes
converted.

Between 17 December 2003 and 31 December 2003 ATL has received validly executed
notices of exercise in respect of 2,501,824 bonus warrants ("Bonus Warrants").
Bonus Warrants were issued to shareholders pursuant to the arrangements set out
in the Company's circular dated 21 November 2002 and approved by shareholders on
17 December 2002. Each Bonus Warrant entitles the holder to subscribe for one
new ordinary share at a price of 10p per share.

Accordingly the Company has today allotted 2,768,324 new ordinary shares of 5p
each in the capital of the Company. Application has been made for admission to
AIM of such new ordinary shares. Admission is expected to take place on 09
January 2004.
