Passenger traffic

In September 2010, passenger traffic at Aéroports de Paris (Paris:ADP) (Pink Sheets:AEOPF) increased by 5.2% compared to September 2009. The Paris airports handled a total of 7.5 million passengers, including 5.3 million at Paris-Charles de Gaulle (+5.1%) and 2.2 million at Paris-Orly (+5.3%).

  • International traffic (excluding Europe) increased by 6.8%. Except Latin America, all destinations recorded an increase. The Middle East grew by 13.0% followed by Africa +10.4%, North America +5.7%, the French Overseas Departments and Territories +4.7% and Asia-Pacific +3.7%. As for Latin America, traffic dropped by 2.9%.
  • European traffic (excluding France) grew by 5.2% boosted by the Schengen area which increased by 5.8%. The combined Great Britain and Ireland market dropped by 2.8%.
  • Traffic within metropolitan France increased by 1.9%.
  • The number of connecting passengers decreased by 4.3%, resulting in a connecting rate of 24.4% (against 26.8% in September 2009).

From January to the end of September, passenger traffic is rather stable with -0.2% compared to the same period in 2009. The number of connecting passengers declined by 5.7%, resulting in a connecting rate of 23.2% (against 24.5% for the first nine months of 2009).

Aircraft movements

The number of aircraft movements decreased by 1.2% in September 2010 year on year (with -2.0% at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and +0.5% at Paris-Orly). For the first nine months of the year, the number of aircraft movements fell by 4.9%.
