Passenger traffic
In December 2009, passenger traffic at Aéroports de Paris (Paris:ADP) (Pink Sheets:AEOPF) dropped by 2.5% compared with December 2008. Paris airports handled a total of 6.4 million passengers divided up between 4.4 million for Paris-Charles de Gaulle (-2.2%) and nearly 2.0 million for Paris-Orly (-3.2%). December traffic was affected, between 17 and 21 December, by adverse weather conditions which hit France and Europe, particularly Germany and Great Britain.
For the full year 2009, Aéroports de Paris handled 83.0 million passengers, a 4.7% decrease in traffic which is mainly due to the impact of the economic crisis on air transport. For the same period, the number of connecting passengers decreased by 3.5% resulting in a connecting rate of 24.7% (against 24.4% for the year 2008).
