Regulatory News:
Passenger traffic
In April 2010, passenger traffic at Aéroports de Paris (Paris:ADP) (Pink Sheets:AEOPF) decreased by 19.1% compared with April 2009. Paris airports handled a total of 5.9 million passengers divided up between 4.1 million for Paris-Charles de Gaulle (-20.0%) and 1.8 million for Paris-Orly (-17.0%).
The decrease in this month's traffic is due to air traffic disruptions caused by the eruption of Icelandic EyjafjÃll volcano. The negative impact on Aéroports de Paris traffic was estimated to be at around 1.4 million passengers further to the five days of traffic shutdown (from Thursday, April 15 at 11p.m. until Tuesday, April 20 at noon) and the two days of progressive reopening.
Since the beginning of the year, passenger traffic decreased by 4,9%. For the same period, the connecting rate declined by 0.6 basis point to 24.3%.
In February 2010, Aéroports de Paris made the assumption that traffic would grow by 0.5% in 2010. Taking into account April's traffic disruption, but thanks to a more favourable outlook than initially anticipated for the upcoming months, Aéroports de Paris is now assuming that traffic in 2010 would be of the same order of magnitude as traffic in 2009, as mentioned in the press release dated May 12, 2010 regarding the 1st quarter revenue. On this basis, Aéroports de Paris still anticipates a slight revenue growth in 2010 compared to 2009 and a 2010 EBITDA in the range of 2009 EBITDA.
