Yum China Holdings Inc. said its board has authorized an additional $1 billion in share repurchases, bringing its total authorization to $2.4 billion worth of shares.
Since 2017, the company has repurchased about $971 million, meaning the company has about $1.4 billion worth of share repurchases remaining under the expanded authorization.
"The Board's approval to expand our share repurchase program reflects the strength of our balance sheet and our ability to generate strong cash flow," Chief Executive Joey Wat said.
