LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 60 years after it was first introduced, the iconic Kentucky Fried Chicken® bucket is undergoing a makeover for the way families and friends eat today. KFC announced today the introduction of $10 Chicken Share, a new shareable bucket for two available at U.S. KFC restaurants beginning Sunday, October 30.

$10 Chicken Share Logo

The $10 Chicken Share bucket is a shorter, heftier companion to the traditional KFC bucket and can be filled with nine Extra Crispy Chicken Tenders; six pieces of fried chicken; enough Popcorn Nuggets for two; or, where available, 12 Hot Wings—all freshly, hand prepared by cooks in KFC restaurants all day, every day.

The introduction of $10 Chicken Share is part of KFC's continued commitment to evolve the brand for consumers today. After bringing founder Colonel Harland Sanders' legendary character back to the marketing spotlight and making a recommitment to his brand standards, KFC is now turning its attention to creating new menu items that appeal to tastes and occasions of the modern diner. Following the successful launch of spicy, smoky, crispy Nashville Hot Chicken, the $10 Chicken Share is intended to provide an easy option for the contemporary family.

"We put our sharpest marketers on the impossible task to create a value offer for two people," said Kevin Hochman, Chief Marketing Officer for KFC U.S. "And after a huge amount of customer research they came back with a novel idea – make the KFC bucket smaller! Genius!"

The $10 Chicken Share will make its television debut on Sunday, October 30 in a series of ads featuring the totally real football team the Kentucky Buckets, Coach Colonel Rob Riggle.

$10 Chicken Share for two joins KFC's lineup of value meals, including $20 Fill Up™ for four and $5 Fill Up for one, for a finger lickin' good meal at any time. It will be available in KFCs across the U.S. beginning Sunday, October 30.
