Chevron (CVX) Wednesday reported a brief period of flaring due to a breakdown at its El Segundo, Calif. refinery. No further details were available.
Delek US Holdings (DK) Wednesday restarted the FCCU shut the previous day due to changes in operational conditions.
Tesoro Corp.'s (TSO) Los Angeles-area refinery was returning to normal operations Wednesday following an early-day power interruption that disrupted operations at several process units.
BP PLC (BP)Wednesday restarted an aromatics recovery unit in the A side of its Texas City, Texas refinery. It is not clear when the unit was taken out of service.
On Tuesday, Suncor Energy (SU) said that one of two oil sands upgraders at its Alberta, Canada upgrader facility was operating at reduced rates following a minor fire. There is no estimate on when normal operations will resume.
Total Petrochemicals USA (TOT) Port Arthur, Texas, refinery experienced a fire Tuesday during the restart of several process units that were knocked off-line earlier by a power snag. The fire occurred in a heavy oil line between the crude unit and tank farm. The impact of the event on refinery operations is not clear.
Flint Hills Resources said Tuesday that the East Plant No. 2 sulfur recovery unit at its Corpus Christi, Texas, was taken off-line Sunday for almost four hours due to an unplanned upset. Sulfur recovery unit No. 1, which was down for maintenance, was restarted to handle the East Plant's sulfur recovery requirements.
Motiva Enterprises LLC said Monday that a reformer unit at its Norco, La., refinery was operating at planned rates after restarting Saturday. The unit was taken out of service Wednesday to facilitate compressor repairs.
Suncor Energy Sunday shut a hydrocracker unit at its Sarnia refinery in Ontario, Canada, owing to a fire at an associated compressor. There is no estimate on when the unit will be restarted.
Exxon Mobil Corp.'s (XOM) Baytown, Texas, hydrocraker unit 1, was up and running Monday after restarting over the weekend. The unit was taken out of service Friday to facilitate repairs to an associated compressor. As expected, the company experienced minimal impact on production as other associated units were operating at temporarily reduced rates to minimize emissions during the repair time.
