SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- USANA Health Sciences founder Dr. Myron Wentz has been recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Children's Hunger Fund (CHF) for his philanthropic efforts. "Honoring Dr. Wentz with this award is just a small reflection of our gratitude for the unwavering support he has provided to us over the last 15 years," said Dave Phillips, president and founder of Children's Hunger Fund. "The work he has helped us accomplish, and the lives we've been able to improve around the world is unmeasurable and we couldn't be more grateful for his generosity."

During his long-standing humanitarian relationship with CHF, Dr. Wentz has funded many projects including Cargo of Hope (11.7 million meals provided), Beds for Ukraine Orphans (2,400 beds built and outfitted), Wentz Medical Centers in Uganda, Cambodia and Malawi (with two more in development) and has championed the donation of more than $21.3 million in cash and nutritional supplements through USANA and its charitable branch, the USANA True Health Foundation.

"I am appreciative, honored and humbled to be the first recipient of the Children's Hunger Fund Lifetime Achievement Award," said Dr. Wentz. "It has been a privilege to support CHF's noble efforts to care for the impoverished and malnourished children of the world."

The award was presented to Dr. Wentz during the Children's Hunger Fund 25th anniversary celebration at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, CA.
