TotalEnergies said that the restart of the idled Tyra natural gas field, Denmark's largest, is expected in March.
The French oil and gas major, the field's operator, said that though some operational uncertainties remain, preparations were progressing as planned and operations could resume before the current March 31 restart date.
The natural gas field was idled for redevelopment due to the subsidence of the field's chalk reservoir after years of production, TotalEnergies said.
The field was a key production area, responsible for more than 90% of the natural gas produced in Denmark's North Sea before its redevelopment, the company said.
The redevelopment of the field included the decommissioning and recycling of old platforms, TotalEnergies said, adding that work is continuing to repower systems, unplug wells, re-establish communications and to ensure safe working conditions.
TotalEnergies said tests indicate that the ramp-up to full technical capacity from the moment the field is restarted is expected to take four months.
