Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said Wednesday that it has pleaded guilty to a count of conspiracy to violate a U.S. labor law, and agreed to pay a $30 million fine.
The wholly-owned subsidiary of auto maker Stellantis NV said it reached the agreement on the plea and fine with the U.S. Attorney's office following an investigation into the misconduct of former FCA US employees involving the UAW-Chrysler National Training Center, or NTC. The agreement is subject to U.S. federal court approval.
The company said it has also agreed to implement an independent compliance monitor for three years.
It added that the agreement entails the closure of the U.S. Attorney's investigation into FCA US regarding the NTC.
