Californians looking to make a quick trip between Los Angeles and the Bay Area can now skip the more than five hour drive, and instead hop on a one hour flight and save a lot of money at the same time. Spirit Airlines (Nasdaq:SAVE) announced today it will add new nonstop service between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Oakland International Airport (OAK), beginning November 12, 2015.

This new service will consist of two daily nonstop flights, with a morning and evening flight each way, allowing travelers to keep time on their side. They'll also be able to keep more money in their pockets with Spirit's ultra-low fares.

"Spirit is becoming an increasingly more popular travel choice for value conscious travelers in the West," said Mark Kopczak, Spirit Airlines' Vice President of Network Planning. "Spirit's friendly service combined with our low Bare Fares™ with Frill Control™ makes flying between Los Angeles and the Bay area more affordable than ever."

"The 'Bay-to-Basin' corridor is one of the busiest air travel markets in the world, and Spirit's new service out of Oakland International Airport brings a new option and greater choice for leisure travelers on both ends of the route," said Deborah Ale Flint, Director of Aviation for Port of Oakland.

With this new service, Spirit will operate nonstop flights to 13 destinations from Los Angeles, including Atlanta (starting 8/20/15), Baltimore/Washington, DC (starting 7/9/15), Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Kansas City (starting 7/9/15), Las Vegas, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Oakland/San Francisco Bay area (starting 11/12/15).

From Oakland, Spirit will operate nonstop to five destinations, including Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston (seasonal), Las Vegas, and Los Angeles (starting 11/12/15).

Customers can check out the flight schedules, crazy low fares, and vacation packages available for this new service and to all Spirit's destinations at www.spirit.com.
