MINNEAPOLIS, April 20  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Piper Jaffray & Co., a focused
securities firm, will participate in National Teach Children to Save Day
Thursday, April 22.  This is the fourth year Piper Jaffray has participated in
the program that was originally developed by the American Bankers Association
Education Foundation in 1997.

Piper Jaffray has developed its own fun and interactive curriculum to present
to children in fourth and fifth grades.  The program was developed to introduce
the important concepts of saving and investing money at an early age. 
Approximately 60 Piper Jaffray employees will visit over 70 classrooms across
the United States on National Teach Children to Save Day.

Day introduces the concepts of saving, spending and sharing money, which are

During the presentation, Piper Jaffray employees will introduce financial
basics by using a brainteaser as well as introducing the concepts of stocks and
bonds through interactive exercises.  Finally, the children receive a Moneybox,
which has three sections -- saving, spending and sharing.  "The Moneyboxes are
a great tool to show children there is more than just spending money, that they
can also use their money to help others in their community," said Grangaard.
