NEW YORK, Sept. 7  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Piper Jaffray & Co. is pleased to
announce that Senior Health Care Services Analyst Ryan Stewart will be hosting
a conference call with National Health Information Technology Coordinator,
David J. Brailer, M.D., Ph.D., on Friday, Sept. 10, 2004 at 11:30 am ET, to
discuss the government's role in enabling the widespread adoption of healthcare
technology and the "strategic framework for action," that was released at
Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy G. Thompson's Summit on Health
Information Technology on July 21, 2004. Dr. Brailer will also discuss the
potential impact these efforts may have on the healthcare technology sector.
Dr. Brailer was appointed to this position by Secretary Thompson May 6, 2004.

As national coordinator, Dr. Brailer is responsible for executing actions
ordered by President George W. Bush in his April 27, 2004 Executive Order
which, called for widespread adoption of Electronic Health Records (EHR) by
most Americans within 10 years to realize substantial improvements in safety
and efficiency. Recently, Dr. Brailer topped out at No. 1 on Modern
Healthcare's "100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare" annual list.

Previous to his current appointment, Dr. Brailer was a senior fellow at the
Health Technology Center in San Francisco, a non-profit research and education
organization that provides strategic information and resources to healthcare
organizations about the future impact of technology in health care delivery. In
addition, he recently completed 10 years as chairman and chief executive
officer of CareScience, Inc., a care management solutions company. Dr. Brailer
holds doctoral degrees in medicine and managerial economics from the University
of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and The Wharton School respectively.
