Piper Jaffray Set to Host Opportunities in Solar and Clean Tech Symposium; Joe Desmond to Provide Keynote Address

NEW YORK, Feb. 10  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Piper Jaffray & Co. will host the first-of-its-kind Opportunities in Solar and Clean Tech Symposium on Feb. 21, 2006, in New York.  The symposium will cover issues and trends in the solar and clean tech industry through management presentations from leading public and private companies in the sector.  The symposium will also feature a keynote address by Joe Desmond, chairman of the California Energy Commission.

Desmond, who was appointed chairman in May 2005, oversees the commission, which is responsible for overseeing funding programs that support public interest energy research, advance energy science and technology through research, development and demonstration and providing market support to existing, new and emerging renewable technologies.  The commission also establishes energy policy and is responsible for siting new generation.
