Beginning today through October 7, the Pitney Bowes Foundation and Pitney Bowes (NYSE:PBI) are organizing 400 employees to take part in 30 community projects benefiting 23 Connecticut educational nonprofit programs. Dedication to Education is conducted with support from The Volunteer Center of the United Way of Western Connecticut and with Team Project Grants from the Pitney Bowes Foundation.

On Friday, October 3, 2014 at 9:30 am, Pitney Bowes President and CEO Marc Lautenbach will be at the William Pitt Child Development Center in Stamford to share books and a story with Pre-K students. This center is part of the Childcare Learning Center network which provides education and nutritional programs serving 50% of Stamford’s Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Pitney Bowes has continuously supported Childcare Learning Centers since the 1930s.

“We’re going back to school this week as we lend a hand to improve our schools and educational programs across Connecticut,” said Marc Lautenbach, President and CEO, Pitney Bowes. “Pitney Bowes has a 94-year history of giving back to the communities where we live, work and play around the world. Our focus and involvement on educational excellence is not only critical to our economic future here in Connecticut, but also throughout the United States and abroad.”

There are 23 nonprofit organizations in Connecticut benefiting from 30 on-site projects. Volunteer projects include digitizing the card catalogue at the Hall School library in Bridgeport, beautifying the playground and adding a “Buddy Bench” at the Irving School in Derby, and providing a career workshop for Danbury High School students.
