NextEra Energy Inc. (NEE) posted higher fourth-quarter profit as revenue rose.
The utility company reported net income of $975 million, or $1.99 a share, compared with $422 million, or 88 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Adjusted earnings were $1.44 a share.
Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting $1.48 a share on an adjusted basis.
Revenue was $4.59 billion, compared with $4.39 billion in the prior year. Analysts were looking for $4.63 billion.
The company said it continues to expect adjusted earnings of $8.70 a share to $9.20 a share in 2020.
