Item 5.02	Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

In a Current Report on Form 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on November 1, 2019, MPLX LP (“MPLX”) disclosed that Gary R. Heminger would continue as Chairman of the Board of Directors (the “MPLX Board”) of MPLX GP LLC, the general partner of MPLX, until his retirement from Marathon Petroleum Corporation (“MPC”) effective upon the conclusion of MPC's 2020 annual meeting of shareholders (the “2020 MPC Annual Meeting”). MPC owns the general partner and majority limited partnership interest in MPLX. The 2020 MPC Annual Meeting was held on April 29, 2020, and Mr. Heminger ceased to serve as the Chairman and a member of the MPLX Board as of the conclusion of the 2020 MPC Annual Meeting.

On April 28, 2020, the MPLX Board appointed Michael J. Hennigan as Chairman, effective April 29, 2020 upon Mr. Heminger’s departure from the MPLX Board.

A copy of the press release announcing Mr. Hennigan’s appointment as chairman is filed with this Current Report on Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
