Dreyfus Strategic Municipals, Inc. Announces Subsequent Round of Partial Redemptions of Auction Rate Preferred Securities

Dreyfus Strategic Municipals, Inc. (NYSE: LEO) today called for the partial redemption, at par value on a pro-rata basis by series in the amounts and on the dates indicated below, of the Fund’s auction rate preferred securities (“ARPS”).* The Fund’s Board previously had authorized the redemption of up to 25% of its outstanding ARPS.

LEO is redeeming $5.0 million of its originally issued and outstanding $285 million of ARPS. To date, LEO has redeemed and/or called for redemption an aggregate of $49.25 million of its ARPS (including the ARPS noted in the following chart).

Redemptions will be allocated among participating broker-dealers by The Depository Trust Company using a predetermined methodology, and each broker-dealer will allocate the redeemed shares to the underlying beneficial owners according to its own procedures.
