Abercrombie & Fitch Co. named Target Corp. veteran Stacia Andersen and Victoria's Secret veteran Kristin Scott as the apparel retailer's new brand presidents.

Both will report to Chief Merchandising Officer Fran Horowitz, who was promoted to the new role in December. She joined Abercrombie in October 2014 as brand manager of the Hollister brand and oversaw its turnaround.

Ms. Andersen will head up the company's namesake and abercrombie kids brands. During her 20 years at Target, Ms. Andersen most recently had served as the discount retailer's vice president of merchandising. Ms. Andersen succeeds former Abercrombie brand manager Christos Angelides, who left the company last year. Ms. Andersen is set to join Abercrombie next month.

Ms. Scott, who will lead the Hollister brand, most recently served as general merchandise manager for Victoria's Secret, a unit of L Brands Inc. Ms. Scott is set to join Abercrombie around the beginning of August.

Abercrombie, which is still operating without someone formally holding the chief executive post, in March reported its first same-store sales gain in more than three years as profit soared 33% in the holiday quarter, signs that its turnaround efforts are taking hold.

The company has been run by an office of the chairman, which includes Ms. Horowitz and Chairman Arthur Martinez, since former CEO Mike Jeffries stepped down in December 2014.

The retailer is set to report its earnings on Thursday for the three-month period ended in April.
