Humana has tapped healthcare-industry veteran Jim Rechtin to succeed Bruce Broussard at the helm of the health insurer and healthcare-services company.
Humana on Wednesday said Rechtin, currently president and chief executive of Envision Healthcare, will join the Louisville, Ky., company on Jan. 8 as president and chief operating officer.
Broussard, who joined the company in 2011 and has been CEO since in 2013, will continue as CEO until the latter half of 2024, at which time he will hand the reins to Rechtin, Humana said.
Rechtin has more than two decades of healthcare experience and served as president of UnitedHealth Group's OptumCare unit before joining Envision.
