Several retailers in the U.S. on Friday said they will require customers at all locations to wear face coverings inside their stores.
Rite Aid Corp. said it will require customers to wear a mask starting July 21 and will provide free masks if needed.
The company said face coverings have been mandatory for its workers since May 1, as well as for customers in states where such coverings were required by law.
GameStop Corp. also said it is "joining other retailers in requiring all customers to wear face coverings when shopping in all U.S. stores." The company said the new measure would take effect July 27, "providing the company time to inform customers of the change, post signage in stores and train associates on the new protocol."
Lowe's Cos. Inc. on Friday said it adopted a nationwide standard for customers to wear masks or face coverings in U.S. stores, effective July 20.
