--The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Thursday said it will investigate a crash last month regarding a vehicle striking a self-driving car from General Motors Co.'s backed Cruise, CNBC reported.
--The NHTSA, part of the Department of Transportation, confirmed the investigation but declined to offer details, the report said.
--A Toyota Prius was traveling about 40 mph in a 20 mph speed zone when it struck the Cruise vehicle, according to a report filed by Cruise Vice President of Global Markets Todd Brugger, CNBC reported. The Cruise vehicle was in "autonomous mode" at the time of the crash, the report said.
--The NHTSA and General Motors didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from Dow Jones Newswires.
